Simplifying is not a “one and done” activity. It is a lifetime habit. So it is not uncommon to continue to do declutters in various areas of your home from time to time.
On this particular day, I found myself needing to declutter again in my bathroom. In this video I tackle two cabinets where I store my skin and hair care items, as well as my nail polish and manicure items.
What I love about this project is that I have chosen a treasured sentimental basket to hold some of my beauty items. If you have been decluttering at all, you know how difficult it can be to decide what to do with sentimental items – keep them – or let them go. It’s a real win when you can find a way to actually USE a sentimental item, not just keep it stored away in a closet.
In this video I also discover how well a lazy Susan works in my bathroom cabinet.
I enjoy painting my nails, so I have quite a few bottles of nail polish and nail supplies. You may look at this and say “how can this be considered simple?” Here is my answer: These are items that I am actually using, they are serving me in doing something that I like to do. These items could very well be clutter in someone else’s bathroom cabinet… but not in mine. 😉
The goal of decluttering and simplifying is to identify the things that you are not using and are taking up valuable space in your home and in your life. I was able to let go of 34 items as I worked on these areas. I was pretty happy about that!
Leave me a comment and let me know if you have found a clever way to use a sentimental item. I would love to hear from you!
XOXO, Angie
