UPDATE: Angie’s Originals is no longer in operation. I am keeping posts about my former business because it hold many wonderful memories for me.
Angie’s Originals is re-opening Sept. 19 and is happy to welcome Denese Peebles as the new manager.
On Aug. 2, I hosted a welcome reception offering customers and friends the opportunity to meet Denese Peebles. Following my move to Louisiana, Denese will take over as the manager of the Angie’s Originals store in Metropolis on Sept. 19, 2014. I will continue to operate the Etsy Shop on-line and many of my soaps and other creations will continue to be available at the store in Metropolis.
Many people in the Metropolis community know Denese from her volunteer activities with Save the Massac, Zeta Zeta Sorority, and the Superman Celebration, just to name a few. Denese has recently began a new chapter in her life, and operating the artist boutique is an exciting part of that new adventure. She is ready to dive in!
Aug. 2 was a day filled with lots of emotions. So many nice people stopped in to say goodbye and good luck to me and wish Denese all the best.
One of my good friends, Janet, picked out a worry doll with a blonde color scarf. She said she wanted to get a doll that would remind her of me! How sweet was that?!! So many customers came in that day – it really warmed my heart! I received phone calls and even special prayers from people wishing Bill and I a safe journey as we begin this new chapter in our lives. It is hard to find the words to express the depth of gratitude I feel for all who have supported me and area artists during the last four years. I will miss everyone SO much!
But, it makes me feel really good to know that Angie’s Originals is in good hands. Denese is a creative busy-body just like me! She has been busy re-arranging the shop and adding new artist creations. She excited about the shop, and I am so excited for her!
I hope you will stop in and see the new look soon! Originals will be open from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Fridays, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays. Wishing everyone all the best…and a life full of “Cool Things!”
