I added Greeting Cards to my No-Buy list recently because I knew cards were something I could make myself…. save some money…. and have fun making them, too!
Several years ago, I was a Stampin’ Up dealer, so I have plenty of supplies (even AFTER I decluttered and donated many craft items.) I may have more stamp supplies than the average crafter, but you can make your own cards with just a few items.
In this video I show you how to make 4 cards simple birthday cards.
For the cards featured in my video, here are the supplies that you will need:
- 8 1/2 x 11 card stock – color(s) of your choice (or you could purchase pre-cut cards.)
- Rubber stamps of your choice.
- Ink pads, colors of your choice.
- Paper cutter if using 8 1/2 x 11 paper. (This is pretty much a must to get a straight cut).
- Envelopes
- Adhesive tape or glue stick (optional for some designs)
- Sponge – optional
Once I finished all of my cards, I put them in my handy Weekend Basket, where I keep greeting cards that are ready to send, and other items that I need to keep track of every week.
You can choose to be as simple or as elaborate as you wish when you are creating your cards. Whether you are pinched for time, or excited about spending an evening relishing in the creative process, you can easily make unique cards for your friends and family.
I hope to make more videos in the future to share my love of card making. If you enjoy crafting, I hope you will try making your own cards, too!
Remember to Keep It Simple!
