Are you considering giving a gift card or cash to someone on your Christmas list, but worried that it just doesn’t seem personal enough?
Let’s talk about why giving a consumable gift can be great option, plus I’ll show you a simple and fun way to package a gift card or cash.
Why give a consumable gift?
Reason #1. Most anyone is happy to receive cash or a gift card that they can SPEND or CONSUME. Really – they are!
Reason #2. It makes shopping a lot more simple for you! Remember the Reason for the Season. It’s not meant to be a time of stressing out over a huge shopping list and running all over creation to search for just the right item. It is a time for Comfort and Joy!
I’m not saying that you should not shop for and give other gifts, like toys, clothes, etc. If you know of an item that someone will 100% love – go for it! I’m just saying that I prefer to not purchase an item that I “hope” someone will like – especially when I know that they would be perfectly happy to receive a monetary gift.
I don’t want to put someone in a situation of holding on to an item I gave them because they are afraid they will hurt my feelings if they let it go.
I have been working to get rid of clutter in my house for several years now. I try not to store away things that I don’t use, or don’t like. I realize that everyone does not not look at clutter the same way I do, but I don’t want to burden someone with a gift they may not like. I don’t want to add to anyone’s clutter!
If you still feel like a monetary gift is not personal enough, I invite you to think about it this way:
Your cash or gift card may ultimately be used for a unique experience that he or she has been planning or saving for – a special trip, perhaps – a game or book that will provide countless hours of fun or relaxed enjoyment. Even if the money/gift card is used to go to the movies or out to eat with a friend or spouse, that is an EXPERIENCE that you are gifting to this person.
In my video I share with you a simple way to combine a treat to eat along with cash or a gift card. This is just one simple idea, and I bet you have other great ideas. If so, I hope you will share them with me!

Whether you love the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping, or prefer to take a calmer approach – I wish you a wonderful holiday season filled with all the blessings of Christmas!
Much love to you and yours!
XOXO
