Are you in that place where you know you need to start decluttering, but it just feels too overwhelming?
I’m going to give you a simple tip on how to get started – so let’s talk about it! Watch the video here.
The secret to start your decluttering journey is not necessarily a “secret”… but it IS Simple.
The secret is to Just Start Small.
You do not have to set aside a weekend to go through your entire kitchen, your whole house or your garage. That is simply too overwhelming!
You can start small with just one drawer, one closet or simply one shelf. Your small decluttering projects will get the ball rolling and give you the confidence and the enthusiasm to keep going.
Places where you can Start Small:
- Medicine cabinet.
- The glove box in your car.
- Desk drawer, pens and pencils.
- Kitchen utensils.
- Sock Drawer.
- Floor of one closet.
- Side table in your living room.
- Book shelf.
- Makeup items
- Purse or work bag.
Once you complete a small declutter project you will have the confidence to keep going. You’re going to experience how great it feels and how much easier it is to manage your simplified space.
Your small projects will build, one upon the other, and bring you to a place where you will really see a HUGE difference. You will become excited to tackle another small space!
If you’re worried about the time commitment, set a timer for 20 minutes. It’s OK if you don’t finish – you can pat yourself on the back for taking the time to begin, and you can finish the next time.
You will soon learn that simplifying and decluttering becomes a lifestyle for you – it’s not a one and done task. Every now and then you’ll revisit your decluttered areas. And I promise – follow-up declutters are easier when you circle back every few months to just tidy up.
Try decluttering in small spurts and see where that takes you. I promise you’ll find a BIGGER result than you think!
Keep it simple friends,
❤️ Angie
