Receiving a colorful Easter Basket is always fun!
But… what do you do with the basket after Easter is over?
It’s likely that you’ll feel that you should store it away for an entire year…. after all, you just might use it again next Easter….. or you may end up sending it to a landfill somewhere… neither of which align with the way many of us strive to live.
So here’s an idea for giving a basket-less treat to someone special, no matter their age.
All you need is 3 Simple Things: A mason jar, wrapped Easter candy and jelly beans.
I’m giving these Easter Treat Jars to a special couple I know this year. I just added a few jelly beans and a couple wrapped candies to beautiful Ball jars for a sweet treat now, and a usable container later.
You could certainly include peeps and other candies – or even money! I used Reese’s Chocolate and Peanut Butter Eggs (YUM) and Russell Stover marshmallow rabbits. Add a ribbon if you wish – or just keep this simple look. Be creative and think “outside the basket” for things to put into your jar!
Once the candy is devoured, your recipient has a classic storage container that can be used for whatever they wish. Both kids and adults can use jars to hold things like: crayons, coins, craft notions, coffee, sugar, nuts and bolts….. or fish fry, like my husband likes to do!
I keep all of my concert tickets in a mason jar on a shelf in my living room (rather than storing them in a box or drawer out of sight) so that I can be reminded of all those fun times!
What do you like to store in Mason jars? I’d love to hear your ideas.
Keep It Simple, Y’all – And Have A Blessed Easter!
